| Around 3:00 am Chicago time, Vlad & Carol put up a Don't Panic message and said they were working on the forum. About an hour later I was getting 'not found' messages whenever I tried to go there. Finally, around 7 or 8 am I got the white blank screen whenever I went there. (At least the not found message was gone.)
Maybe they'll get it figured-out today, maybe tomorrow. I don't think this is a hacker problem. (Probably turn-out to be some tiny little setting that's driving them nuts right now.
Happy Memorial Day! | |

Happy Memorial Day! Thanks! I was starting to get worried myself!

| Seems like Friendly has been plagued with problems over the last 5 months. The site crashed twice, been hacked more than once, lost all my posts, I've had to reregister 3 times, enough is enough already. They need to address their slow response time, to be able to fix problems in a timely manner, i'll check in from time to time, but I have moved onto TQ !! and Steve, I'll still be here, ya know I like this place !! | I heard from both Vlad and Carol via e-mail. The site is moving to a more secure and dedicated server to once and for all protect it from the hacker!! Hang in there guys, they will be back better than ever!! | |

MAYBE , Ron, hope so,..... but a lot of former members never returned because of all this. I wish them well, but ya know if anyone ran a business like that.... well you know !!

| I understand how you feel Rich, but I don't think any of this was anything they could have prevented. The VietCong Hacker targeted them cuz they are a very popular forum in the hopes of scamming some money out of the members! This little forum that Steve has going is also a great place to view, post and chat! I belong to a few other sites, but have not tried TQ, maybe I should check it out. But gotta say, The Friendly Forum will always be my "home" site! (No offense intended to any other forums, each one has it's own + and _) | |

| I'm a member here and at the Friendly site. Both are the only places I go and have been warmly welcomed at both sites and have corresponded with many nice folks.. It's down, I'll wait it out..

| The Friendly Forum is back. Looks like it got back about 6 hours ago. I discovered it 2 hours ago. It's on a new server and Vlad is still tuning it - right now it's a bit rocky. In another day it will be a lot smoother.
What ClassicIISL said is true. But then if the Friendly Forum was the front door to a business, there would be a team of network and web people who tested the site to death before it went live. The Friendly Forum ain't a business, Vlad don't have an IT team of specialists, and what we do over there (or on any other MD'n web-site) ain't gonna save the world. We're a bunch of geeks hang'n out having fun. I give Vlad a lot of credit for putting in the effort he puts in to allow us to gather over there. I'm not putting down any other sites. I visit Treasure Quest and Treasure Net regularly. Don't post much at those sites, but I do enjoy reading their posts and I learn things. I try to post here as much as I can, but since I don't get out much, I don't have much to say. I do like the people here and given time, I'm sure it will grow. We all gotta go where we feel the most comfortable.
HH

| I tried to register, but it wouldn't let me. It also wouldn't let me use the "contact" feature to let them know I couldn't register. Is that a hint? | |

| I'll let them know you had a problem trying to register. It's running much smoother today, but you could have found a problem they don't know about. They also lock it to new people and visitors from midnight until like 8 in the morning. The hacker drove them to that.
Do try again - either later today or tomorrow. It's not the biggest forum around, but it is a fun place to hang-out.
