Are you using the stock coil on your XLT or did you put a Hot-Shot coil on it? | |

The Hot-Shot seems to go crazy at old homesites because of the trash, so I prefer my stock coil. I use my hot shot when I am in less trashy areas. Thanks! | |

| I think the war nickels are 20 % silver, use a small coil for trashy areas, they pick through the trash better, smaller footprint. | |

Thanks! Well at least you do use it. I've read lots of complaints about the Hot-Shot coils when used with Garrett machines - like they produce lots of false signals. ClassicIISL has some good advise about the sniper coil. There is a 3.5 inch Blue Max coil that will fit your machine. Takes a lot longer to search an area, but the pinpointing is easy. | |
