Wow !!!!!!!!!! I do believe that predates the civil war by a lot , looks more like colonial coinage, How big is it, and do you know the weight ? that is a real nice find, It looks like it got cleaned a bit, I would hold off on doing anything to it, and do not soak it in Olive oil or anything crazy like that. I believe you have something rather rare in your hands. That could be a high dollar coin, but with coins condition does matter a lot, and as you know it is rather toasty..........VERY VERY good work!!! cheers

That sure is old. Nice hunt'n! I tried to bring the detail up a little, still can't really read much.

The back is too crusty to do much with.

AWESOME COIN Pictur10

Hope you find some more!

Very nice coin! I think it might be a 1767 french coin that circulated here. I think it might be worth $100-$150. DO NOT CLEAN IT ANYMORE! NICE FIND!

We think we found out what it is, it's a German coin from the 1800's...a "Thaler" I think it's called... not worth much I guess but still very cool.

I also thought that is what it was also. I guess I was just getting exited with what I said earlier! LOL! Great find!
